My name is Fraser and the reason I started AcademiaTutoring is because I wanted to provide a platform for both tutors and students to thrive.
I have been working as a Maths and Physics tutor for the last two years, and I am in my second year of studying Mathematics.
While working as a tutor, I realised that the process of helping students understand their subjects and seeing them develop under my guidance was something that I greatly enjoyed. My inspiration for starting AcademiaTutoring was to create a platform where students and tutors can easily find each other and successfully work together to achieve their academic goals.

Once you have filled out the contact form, we will reach out to you and explain the payment method and how we do it at AcademiaTutoring. Payment for lessons is done in packages, so you pick the package that fits you and then once the lessons are completed, you will need another package. Tutors will keep track of the lesson and we will make sure to notify you when your package is done. If you are ever unsure how many you have left, feel free to ask the tutor as they will keep track of the number of lessons that they have conducted.
It is understandable if you are not sure whether you would like to commit to a full package immediately. For this reason, we have a trial lesson that can be used once to see if the tutor is a good match and if you would like more lessons going forward. Once this trial lesson has been used, you can either pick a package or decide not to continue. The trial lesson can be found in the package section.
Once we receive your contact form, we will either call you or send an email with our details and what you can expect. Usually a call will be needed to discuss your specific circumstances and the type of tutoring you would need, how long it would be for and other details that may be necessary. Once we know what you are looking for, we will find a suitable tutor and get you in touch with them. After you have discussed a schedule with the tutor, you will need to pick a package and pay. The packages can be found in the package section on the website. We can always help with deciding which package is best, as it changes depending on your specific circumstances. Once we receive confirmation of payment, the lessons can begin.
At AcademiaTutoring, we have a 24 hour cancellation policy, meaning if the lesson is cancelled within 24 hours of the agreed time, then the lesson is charged anyway. Our reason for this is because we want to make sure that the tutors time is respected, as they plan their schedules to make sure they can make it to the lesson on time and prepare beforehand.
If you would like to have tutoring in multiple subjects, then it is possible that your tutor can help with multiple subjects, if they have the relevant knowledge. If not, then we will find you another tutor who can help. The same lessons from the package can also be used, but only if they are for the correct level, meaning Standard or Higher level.
Once a package has been bought, we do not offer refunds. However, if a sibling of the student would like lessons, the lessons that were left over can be transferred to them.
Each lesson you have with an Academia tutor is tailored to their specific needs, since we believe this is the best way to help and provide support to IB students. Whether you need an explanation with a specific topic or are preparing for an exam, our tutors will provide you with what you need to feel confident in class and achieve your goals in your studies or exams. Since all of our tutors are students, we are well aware of the stresses and strains that students go through when completing the IB, and therefore we know exactly what to provide and how to help.
